Cancellation Policy

Lalaguna Villas is a small resort which runs at relatively high occupancy. However, being a few hours away from a major city means that our guests need to plan ahead to get here. Late cancellations mean that a villa which would have been occupied will instead be empty unnecessarily. That reduces our ability to run the resort at the standard we wish to maintain. Most cancellations occur for very good reasons, but nonetheless, we have the staff to pay and children to feed, so... our cancellation policy is as follows:

- If cancelled more than 21 days before arrival date, 100% of the deposit will be cheerfully refunded.
- During low season months of July, August, September, the notice period reduces from 21 to 7 days.
- If less notice period is given, no refund is available but half of the deposit can be transferred to a rescheduled booking.
- Early departure from the resort is considered to be a cancellation of the remaining days of the booking.

In the event that the resort becomes fully booked or seems likely to become fully booked, we reserve the right to request payment of the balance of the accommodation value, at least 7 days prior to arrival date, or within 48 hours of such payment request. Failure to complete this payment will result in cancellation of the booking and forfeiture of the deposit already paid.

Unfortunately, deposits on bookings which fall partly or entirely within a peak period cannot be refunded or re-used.
Exceptions to these policies may be made in the event of extreme weather conditions or severe illness, at the sole discretion of the resort manager.

Please note that credit card surcharges are unavoidable due to the high fees imposed by local banks. However, it is not compulsory to pay by credit card. We accept direct bank transfers, Western Union, and can make arrangements to suit individual circumstances.

Policy update: from 1/1/2015, no credit card surcharge will apply to deposits paid via PayPal.
